Now Blood Donor Directory and Health Services Information at Mobile Click

R S S Jankalyan Samiti Kurla is all set to launch first of its kind Mobile application “ M-Health” at the hands of Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadanavis Ji, on Sunday the 21st February 2016 evening 6 pm at New Mill Ground, Kurla West. Smt Poonam Mahajan (Member of Parliament), Shri. Mangesh Kudalkar (MLA Kurla), Shri Sanjay Potnis (MLA Kalina), Shri Sunil Sapre RSS Kokan Prant Secretary, Shri Ravi Karve, Chief of RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kokan Prant, Shri Sharadbhau Khadilkar, Organising Secretary RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kokan Prant, will also grace the occasion.

We all are aware of the hardships of relatives, family members and friends, in case of medical emergency. Immediate availability of medical help as well as requirement of Blood is crucial and Patient’s family members, relatives and friends are at loss at times in the absence of information about availability of medical help in the surrounding area. They also have to approach many people for donation of blood. Realising this social need, RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kurla decided to organise a social programme “Sanvedna- Sampark Shakti” (Sensitivity- A Communication Power).

A campaign-“Aamhi Raktadate” (We- Blood Donors) was launched on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Param Poojaniya Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, to enroll the blood donors from the Kurla area. Karyakartas had set a target of enrolling 5000 blood donors. Camps were arranged at 35 locations for testing the blood group and enrollment of donors, over a period of past one year. Karyakartas toiled hard and worked relentlessly to achieve their set goal and succeeded in enrolling 5000+ Blood Donors. It is indeed a great achievement in first of its kind effort. The blood group wise data is now being published in Book Format lauding the efforts of RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kurla Bhag; Honorable Chief Minister consented to be chief guest at the function to release the book.

During the course of Aamhi Raktadate campaign, it was observed that though all sorts of medical facilities and health services are available in Mumbai – the Financial Capital of India. In case of emergency, Patients were suffering due to non availability of information about available medical and health services with in the vicinity. Considering this lacunae an emergent need to compile the data and make it available to people was felt. After deliberations, idea of developing and launching a mobile application providing information about whole gamut of services available under medical treatment and public health emerged. RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kurla Bhag decided to undertake the herculean task and is now ready for the launch of Mobile Application “M-Health” in the service of people of covering data of medical and health services available in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai Thane and Kalyan.

M-Health has 2 distinct features:

1. Information about various medical and health services available in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, Kalyan area, with data such as name of the Institution, Location, Contact details etc. in respect of the following: Hospitals(Govt., Trust, Private), Ayurvedic Hospitals, Homeopathy Hospitals, Burn Clinics, Heart Care, Cancer Care, Blood Banks, Dialysis Centres, Ambulance and Hearse, 24 Hours Medical Shops, Generic Medicine Shop, Pathology Centres, Physio Therapy centres, Organ Donation, Patient support / Help services, medical equipments for patients, financial aid providing agencies etc.

2. Blood Donors’ data:

This will provide blood group wise classification of blood donors with their contact details. The needy patient or his / her close kin have to register themselves by providing information about name of the patient, name of the hospital, address, contact nos etc and submit a request for the requirement of Blood. Once the request is registered Names and contact details of 10 blood donors will be displayed and at the same time an alert sms would be sent to the concerned 10 donors about requirement of blood. All users of Mob. app. Will also receive intimation about requirement of Blood of a particular group.

There is also a facility for blood donors who would like to volunteer blood donation and offer to enroll their name in the directory. They can submit their data for inclusion in the list.

This, to the best of our knowledge, first of its kind, mob. App in Mumbai and RSS Jankalyan Samiti Kurla has pleasure in offering it to the citizens of Mumbai.
